| 27/03/2009 - The Restructuring of the BSIF – the dawn of a new era |
The British Safety Industry Federation is entering a new era - and embracing the challenges that accompany it. Over the past two years a number of long serving Federation Directors have retired. Combined with the current economic climate and the ever increasing need for businesses to embrace a safer working environment, the BSIF is currently taking the opportunity to re-evaluate its position, both in respect to other stakeholders and also how it champions its members’ interests within the safety industry.
The recent appointment of David Hall of Moldex Metric as the Chairman of the Federation was greeted with enthusiasm and seen as a key part of this new era. Mr Hall said of his position “this is an exciting time to be taking on this role. Going forward we need to continue to define the purpose of the BSIF, how it operates and ultimately ensure that the way it manages itself maintains value for money for its members. The BSIF has always provided unparalleled value and unyielding support to its members, and this is increasingly important with the tough trading environment we are all experiencing.”
At the Safety & Health Expo in May, the BSIF will be reinforcing David Hall's statement and demonstrating its position as a formidable lobbying force on behalf of its members by featuring several, jointly mounted, BSIF - HSE initiatives.
