NEW HIGHER PERFORMANCE ‘FLEX’ COUPLING FROM REXNORD

A new high performance, general purpose, elastomer coupling has been introduced by Rexnord. The company says it offers 25% higher torque ratings and 40% greater stiffness than its equivalent standard elastomer coupling range.
Called the Omega® HDY, the new high performance coupling combines all the advantages of its standard split elastomer ‘flex’ element together with both close-coupled and spacer design formats. The result is an easy to install coupling with a replace-in-place facility plus reduced inventory, thanks to multiple distance between shaft ends mounting options using the same elements and hubs.
Torque ratings range from 28Nm to 48,000Nm with torsional stiffness up to 2J/kgm (280m/kg).
