Surrey, U.K. (August 26, 2009) — Hawco, an international controls and refrigeration engineering service provider and distributor, has launched its new Motion Technology Solutions Initiative for OEM manufacturers serving mass transit applications. By leveraging its application experience and extensive product knowledge in heating, industrial controls, calibration, refrigeration, electrical components and LED lighting, Hawco can lower costs, improve product performance and save development time for OEMs involved in the manufacturing and maintenance of trains, buses, ticketing systems, transport catering, station security and monitoring systems, hand-held instrumentation, meters and refrigeration systems.
The Motion Technology Solutions Initiative begins with component/product recommendations based on application requirements, industry standards and field performance issues including harsh environment considerations (i.e. shock, vibration, constant motion, ambient temperature and humidity). By offering a wide variety of components and product solutions for mass transit OEM manufacturers, Hawco can simplify the design process with shorter lead times for prototypes, more efficient product recommendations that optimize product performance, innovative energy-smart solutions utilizing the latest technologies, and by bringing a total system awareness and approach to minimize field failures. When working cooperatively with design engineering departments, Hawco also provides one-stop source benefits for the procurement and MRO functions. With Hawco’s Quick-Pick program, lead times and inventories can be drastically reduced for certain systems and control components. By simplifying bill of materials, reducing field return issues, and providing a single source for multiple systems components, customers can achieve an overall lower-cost solution.
