| 26/01/2010 - Alfa Laval moves deeper into the OEM diesel and gas engine market |
Alfa Laval has acquired Champ Products, a leading manufacturer of standard and custom heat exchangers for OEM customers, focused primarily on the diesel engine market.
In line with its overall strategy of offering the widest possible range of products and application expertise for cooling, filtration and crankcase gas cleaning of diesel and gas engines, Alfa Laval has completed the acquisition of US engine cooling specialist, Champ Products Inc.
Based in Sarasota, Florida, Champ is acknowledged for its deep knowledge of engine cooling and is a North American market leading company, with sales of about SEK 100 million in 2009 and some 75 employees. The intention is to incorporate Champ products into Alfa Laval’s overall offering within January 2010.
Founded in 1964, Champ Products’ range includes unique shell-and-tube and plate heat exchangers and other heat transfer devices for diesel engines. It will complement Alfa Lava’s existing product portfolio which includes the Eliminator lube oil filter, brazed and fusion-bonded heat exchangers, rubber end tube sheet shell-and-tube heat exchangers, charge air coolers and Alfdex and PureVent oil mist separators for cleaning crankcase gases.
