All roads lead to Aberdeen this September 8th and 9th for the biennial Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems exhibition. With its hard-earned status as a must attend event for the oil and gas industry, the two day show will feature the latest technological developments from within the oil and gas field. Wellingborough based KROHNE UK will be there in conjunction with Hamall Process Instruments, their Scottish agents, to showcase their latest products which have helped make them such a major force in instrumentation. ‘’KROHNE has long been seen as a leader and innovator in instrumentation’’ says Trevor Fawcett, Managing Director at KROHNE UK. ‘’The oil and gas industry is an extremely important market for us. As such we are looking forward to meeting both new and existing customers at Instrumentation Scotland 2010 and demonstrating why our range of products is perfect for their needs’’ he adds. The KROHNE stand, number 514, will be focusing on some of the company’s key oil and gas products. Visitors to the stand will be able to see full scale models of the highly acclaimed OPTIMASS 2300 Coriolis mass flowmeter and the Altosonic V12, an ultrasonic gas flowmeter designed specifically for custody transfer applications in the oil and gas industry. The ALTOSONIC V12 was developed to ensure it provided the highest achievable accuracy in the field and would be independent of installation conditions. It addresses the key issues of performance monitoring and optimisation of diagnostic capabilities. Designed with 12 measurement chords, 10 are in parallel planes and eliminate any swirl effects whilst two are vertical and reserved exclusively for diagnostic functions such as fouling. Once commissioned, it continuously monitors its own operating status. The OPTIMASS 2300 is a twin straight tube Coriolis mass flowmeter, and is an excellent solution for bulk product transfer where the highest accuracy is required. Offering outstanding performance for mass and volume flow measurement the OPTIMASS 2300 is ideal for fiscal measurement with a measuring accuracy of 0.1%. The OPTIMASS 2300 is also capable of high turndown ratios, keeping flow velocities low, preventing the build-up of static in hydrocarbons and presenting a real benefit for custody transfer applications in the oil and gas industry. Along with ultrasonic and mass flowmeters, the KROHNE stand will also feature details of their OPTIFLUX electromagnetic flowmeters for well-water injection, H250 variable area flowmeters and OPTISWIRL vortex steam meters along with information on the company’s flow metering systems, thereby showcasing the company’s claim to offer single-source and turnkey solutions for the many various metering needs of the oil and gas industry. Away from the stand, Frank Grunert, Global Product Group Manager for KROHNE UK will be speaking at the seminar programme with a session looking at ‘Straight tube Coriolis meters for Oil & Gas applications’. This free seminar will take place on both days at 1.30pm and will last half an hour.
