7th Process Management Academy will focuses on safety and sustainability
15 February 2011
The 7th Process Management Academy (PMA) will be held at the Radisson BLU Astrid Hotel in Antwerp, Belgium from February 28th to March 1st. Driven by End User need the event will focus on Operational Excellence in safety and sustainability. Hosted by ARC Advisory Group, the PMA is a platform for process users to share knowledge with their peers and discuss their needs with automation experts.
In the past productivity and efficiency, safety and security, and energy efficiency often contradict each other. However, in todays’ business environment all these parameters have to optimize. Therefore, the PMA will focuses on solutions and products that help to integrated these and optimize the overall process.
Operational Excellence (OPX) is a philosophy of continuous improvement, targeting profitability as well as customer satisfaction by optimizing virtually all aspects of manufacturing inside the fence and all possible impacts on the producers’ environment. A 'safety culture' and clear organizational principles must complement safety-related automation as a means to guard against industrial accidents. PMA will address how to implement behavioral, organizational, and technical aspects of process safety with the objective of 100% safe operations. This includes the safety of workers, clients, and patients, which is indirectly related to process safety.
At the PMA, manufacturers such as BASF, Bayer MaterialScience, DuPont, Lubrizol, Total, and other process experts will present and discuss best practices, benchmarking results, and methods of using technologies, overcoming problems and obtaining benefits from applied solutions.
Energy efficiency will be covered by various companies, such as ePlus, Höchst, Siemens, and DuPont. The main focus is the optimization of energy usage in the process industry. Safety and IT Security in the process industries will be discussed with contributions from SPPC, anapur, IKF, Bayer MaterialSience, Librizol, and Endress+Hauser among others. operational excellence will be Total, Bayer MaterialScience and others. All these discussion will provide insight into the top manufacturers’ strategies and everyday praxis.
