Optima Control Solutions Ltd (Optima) has been short-listed for a prestigious manufacturing award at this month's inaugural Red Rose Awards run by Lancashire Business View.
Optima has been nominated in the Industrial Business of the Year category and will find out if the company is successful at a black tie event held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Thursday March 31.
As the only engineering service provider on the shortlist, this is a considerable accolade and reflects the growing impact that the Blackburn-based drives and controls specialist is making across a variety of manufacturing industries.
The Red Rose Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses in the Lancashire region. Companies such as Optima are recognised in these awards for their business achievements and their commitment to the skills, diversity and vibrancy of the local business community.
Established in 1995 by two local engineers, Michael Hill and fellow managing director Dr Adrian West, OCS has grown steadily since then into a disciplined business that now provides a blue chip service to an impressive and wide ranging client base.
Drives, PLCs and SCADA systems are fundamental to keeping the wheels of industry turning and Optima's expertise in this field has helped some of the world's leading manufacturers, such as API Laminates, Tullis Russell and Voith, improve productivity and processes at their manufacturing plants both in the UK and abroad. Optima, an approved Solution Partner with global leaders in motion and control technologies Siemens and Parker Hannifin, has developed an unrivalled reputation for designing, building and commissioning high-quality drive control systems over the last 16 years and, through its sister company, Infoserve365, is also now a UK leader in managed data collection and analysis.
