BUTECH SUBSEA VALVES CONFORM TO API 6A PERFORMANCE, SAFETY & RELIABILITY STANDARDS
19 May 2011
Valves comply with globally recognized pressure control specification
Haskel International has successfully completed Performance Verification Testing, per API 6A, 19th ed., for its BuTech subsea valves used in oil and gas production.
Tests demonstrated the integrity of the subsea valves in accordance with the standard. The data support the confidence that BuTech subsea valves meet performance, safety and reliability expectations in the deepest water and some of the harshest environments in the industry.
The valves were subjected to Hydrostatic and Hyperbaric Testing and Calibrated Temperature Baths that simulate the extreme heat and cold that are common in operating situations for the valves. Tests proved the valves conform to all aspects stated in API 6A (19th Edition), ISO 10423:2003 PR2, Annex F/PSL3G. This standard is recognized around the world as the specification for pressure control systems in wellhead and distribution equipment used for production of oil and gas.
The tests were certified by DNV (Det Norske Veritas Classification (Americas), Inc.) who approved the test procedures, verified performance testing results, witnessed product teardown and issued an official Project Summary Report covering the scope of the DNV inspection.
