The QUINT UPS-IQ with IQ Technology incorporate a number of innovative features to help take the guesswork out of protecting your loads from mains power failure from milliseconds up to a few hours duration.
With Intelligent Battery control, the QUINT UPS-IQ automatically detects the connected battery type and battery capacity and maximises the remaining service life of the battery via an optimally adapted charging characteristic based on the ambient conditions. With Intelligent charging the UPS communicates with the battery and with the power supply and adapts the charging current allowing the fastest possible recharge of the battery, typically twice as fast than it would be with conventional UPS systems.
Continuous monitoring and intelligent battery management gives instant information on the current charging state of the battery unit and automatically calculates the remaining back-up time. The device also calculates the current life expectancy of the battery which allows battery replacement time to be optimised and reduces costs occurred because of unnecessary early replacement.
All relevant monitoring information can be viewed on a connected PC. The software is freely downloadable and as well as monitoring information allows the UPS to be configured via the software. A data port is provided on the UPS to connect to the PC, alternatively a memory stick can be used to save and transfer configured parameters from one UPS to another. Models with output currents of 5, 10, 20, and 40 A are available for 24 VDC output applications, while an AC UPS with output power of 500 VA addresses applications for 120/230 VAC.
In combination with the QUINT UPS-IQ, “Hot-swappable” VRLA battery packs are available in capacities from 1.3 to 38Ah and give typical mains buffering times of 8 hours at 5A, or 30 minutes at 40A. For extreme ambient temperatures a Li Ion battery is available.
