COOPER Crouse-Hinds is offering UK customers reduced lead times on its range of premium-grade, stainless steel terminal enclosures for use within harsh and hazardous environments.
COOPER Crouse-Hinds’ range of Stainless Steel Terminal enclosures are available nationwide from its national network of Local Assemblers, who form part of a nationwide distribution network. These local assemblers are fully accredited to assemble and modify the company’s range of Certified terminal enclosures for use within harsh and hazardous locations, ensuring full compliance with all the relevant European Directives and international standards, backed up by a highly efficient production facility based in Sheerness, Kent.
As stocks of enclosures are held both locally and nationally, small quantities can be assembled to customer specific needs and delivered within 2 to 5 days. The Sheerness enclosure production facility has been producing the TB range of terminal enclosures for more than 40 years. Coming under the ownership of COOPER Crouse-Hinds some 12 years ago, the facility has gained a worldwide reputation for its high quality and reliability.
There are three main styles of enclosure that make up the COOPER Crouse-Hinds Terminal Box (TB) enclosure family, which are available for rapid delivery. However, many more styles of enclosure are available from the company’s complete range.
The three main enclosure styles are: E-TB, N-TB and S-TB. All three ranges of enclosures are ingress protected to IP66 (IEC 60529) and are impact resistant to 7J (Nm) for hazardous area applications. All enclosures are manufactured in 316L stainless steel, electropolished to provide longer life and reduced surface oxidation/contamination. All boxes are easy to install and maintain due to a wide variety of mounting options and design features.
All enclosures are supplied with an extended 3-year warranty and are certified for ATEX, IECEx, GOST-R and –K, and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The N-TB and S-TB series are also certified to Germanischer Lloyd (GL).
The E-TB series is the company’s all-rounder and is precision-manufactured with a 1.2mm thick, electropolished 316L stainless steel housing and a 1.2mm or 1.5mm thick stainless steel hinged door to withstand harsh environments, complete with quarter turn locks to simplify maintenance operations. Door sealing is provided by a one-piece foam in place polyurethane gasket, which enables higher ingress protection (IP rating) and operating temperatures range from -20 deg C to +80 deg C. E-TB enclosures are available with or without a gland plate.
The N-TB series is the company’s premium range for instrumentation and electrical applications for highly demanding, harsh environments. Therefore, the body thickness is increased to 1.5mm or 2.0mm, electropolished 316L stainless steel. A 1.5mm or 2.0mm thick stainless steel hinged, detachable door offers more space during operation, whilst captive screws are secured into the cover to ensure easy re-installation. All N-TB enclosures come with one gland plate. High integrity sealing enables operating temperatures from -45 deg C to +80 deg C as standard.
The S-TB series is a very compact range of enclosures that are ideally suited to smaller applications in all industry sectors. These boxes have no gland plate and are precision manufactured with a 1.5mm thick, electropolished 316L stainless steel body and a 1.5mm thick stainless steel, non-hinged lid with captive screws. High integrity sealing enables operating temperatures from -45 deg C to +80 deg C.
