Thermal imaging is fast becoming standard practise for an ever widening range of applications in industry, science and the built environment. Infrared training in industry is growing in demand and provision but the technology is also now on school and university curricula.
It is to help the education and training sector complement theoretical study with practical application that technology leader, FLIR Systems, has introduced its new Education Package.
Valid through to 31st December 2012, FLIR Systems’ Education Package comprises a FLIR i7 thermal imaging camera whose standard list price is £1776 (excl. VAT). It also includes educational booklets on the various application sectors and a DVD on Sir William Herschel’s discovery of infrared radiation and how this led to modern day thermal imaging. The cost of this kit is £530 (excl. VAT).
The FLIR i7 is at the top end of the company’s compact range, providing 120 x 120 pixels resolution with increased field of view and higher thermal sensitivity than others in the range. It is the ideal introductory model for electrical, mechanical and structural fault finding, energy loss detection and for visualising thermal performance.
So who qualifies for this package? Clearly any school, college or university but also training centres, indeed anywhere that would use the kit to introduce this exciting technology to a new generation of users. Further information is available at www.flir.com
