One stop shop or separates?

The discerning music lover would say separates every time. That is to say that he or she would not buy a stacked tower of CD player, amplifier, cassette player and tuner. He would know that for each of those products there was an ideal supplier to cater for his auditory tastes. So is there a parallel to the industrial buyer, an engineer, project person or buyer. Indeed there is says Matt Harrison at BEKO Technologies, “We respect the compressor guys, they’ve introduced a lot of great products in the last few years and yes they can provide solutions in a one shop way and of course it can be convenient but at BEKO Technologies we don’t make compressors, in fact we are very specialised on a fairly narrow area. This comprises condensate management, compressed air drying and filtration and measurement. So we provide very well informed advice to customers on a product range which we know is superior to some of the “solutions” provided by others which have in some cases the only benefit of being the same colour”
In many cases the single source will not have the product required and will have to go and source from a company specialising in a specific area. An example would be for a system requiring explosion proof ATEX certified drains. A quick internet search will not include any of the major system suppliers but does include some specialists including BEKO Technologies. Another example could be for a system that includes a condensate that will not separate out by gravity and requires a splitting device with metered doses of flocculent. This situation occurs regularly in printing plants and where certain types of compressor oils are used. Another quick internet search reveals 10 companies and 7 are BEKO Technologies or distributors offering BEKO solutions. So whilst the one stop shop will provide solutions in almost all cases there is a strong case to look at the specialist.
