Atlas Copco Compressors appoints Richard Oldale as National Operations Manager

Atlas Copco Compressors has announced the appointment of Richard Oldale as its National Operations Manager in the United Kingdom. Commenting on his appointment, Richard Oldale said: “As head of Atlas Copco’s restructured UK operations team it is my task to ensure profitability is maintained and that all systems are working to the highest level of efficiency.”
In his newly created role, which replaces the previous structure of three Regional Managers, Richard and his team will be focussed on improving profitability and efficiency in Atlas Copco Compressors’ UK operations, whilst maintaining the core value of customer care. The new structure will see Richard supported by a highly experienced group of team leaders in planning and engineering and lead to a clear and concise delivery of the company’s UK operations strategy. In order to achieve this, Atlas Copco continues to invest heavily in staff training schemes, such as the recent Planning Academy programme, which ensure best practice is fostered and shared across all operations centres.
Richard started his engineering career in the Royal Navy, working on a range of Ministry of Defence marine engineering projects. Upon leaving the navy, Richard worked for a company maintaining diesel, gas and electrical powered vehicles before joining Atlas Copco as a Service Engineer in 1996. After this, Richard gained experience as a Sales Engineer, receiving the Atlas Copco Salesperson of the Year Award in 2003. He then took up the position of Regional Service Manager and then UK Sales Manager, before being promoted to lead the restructured operations team in 2012.
Outside of work, Richard enjoys a range of interests including golf and motorcycles. He also has a thirst for learning, and recently undertook a building course in order to complete his own house extension.
