Mattei celebrates 25 years in the UK and record growth

The UK arm of rotary vane compressor manufacturer Mattei is celebrating its 25th anniversary, as well as record growth.
Italian based Mattei is the world’s leading manufacturer of rotary vane compressors. Founded in Italy in 1919 it has subsidiaries and distributors across the globe. In 1987 it opened its UK division, based in Shipston-on-Stour in Warwickshire.
2012 sees the UK division celebrating 25 years in business, but also record growth and a healthy order book. Mattei has seen good continual growth in its core business over the last few years and saw additional growth of 9 per cent during 2011. Even more encouragingly, the business also reports that like-for-like sales were already up 43 per cent during the first half of 2012.
Mattei’s general manager Andy Jones said: “2011 was a successful year, particularly when considering the general economic climate. We have continued to build upon our efforts over the last few years and this has been rewarded by excellent growth into 2012, for both first-half sales and orders already booked for the rest of the year.
“As well as increasing compressor sales we’ve also made strides in other areas of our business, for example in service. We are definitely celebrating – and feel confident about the future; we are forecasting record growth in 2012 and with the launch of new initiatives and products the outlook for 2013 and beyond also looks good.
“Our success can be partly attributed to the vane technology used in Mattei compressors – which offers benefits in terms of energy efficiency, longevity and reduced maintenance – and therefore lower total cost of ownership – but also the fact that we have continued to invest in our business throughout the economically challenging times.”
Mattei is committed to continual research and development in vane technology, and investment in state-of-the-art facilities in Italy has enabled the company to make significant technological advancements, particularly in the area of energy efficiency.
