Expansion of the low voltage enclosures range noted for its flexibility and reliability.
BARCELONA, SPAIN — September 28, 2012. The QuiXtra4000 is GE’s new range of enclosures for distribution boards rated up to 4000A. The QuiXtra4000 builds on the existing QuiXtra system which widely is used for low voltage distribution boards in commercial and industrial environments.
Designed for ease of use, the QuiXtra4000 meets the needs of panel builders, installers and end users who require reliable and flexible systems. In addition to the QuiXtra range’s proven reliability, the new enclosures will offer users more design options and greater ease of maintenance.
The QuiXtra4000 features a rigid frame that provides a high degree of protection when transporting completed distribution boards between the panel builder’s workshop and the end user’s location. The construction also supports a busbar system that provides protection against short circuits and makes installation easier.
QuiXtra4000 allows greater flexibility in distribution board design. It offers an expanded range of dimensions and the possibility of layouts in “L” and “U” shapes which enables users to configure the distribution panel according to the requirements of any project.
Aesthetically the new enclosures retain the QuiXtra’s clean design that fits into modern commercial environments.
When fitted with original GE low voltage devices, the QuiXtra4000 enclosure is certified according to the new standard IEC 61439-2 by DEKRA. The enclosure also provides a high degree of protection against water and dust (Ingress Protection IP30 /IP55 rated), making the system appropriate for use in a wide range of environments.
The QuiXtra4000 offers a wide range of accessories to make wiring and installation easier, including the recently updated GE PowerDesign quotation and design software that enables the fast and efficient configuration of low-voltage installations for GE enclosures.
Operational in eight languages, the new PowerDesign software package features a fresh look and feel. New features include automatic configuration of devices into enclosures, copy and paste entire cabinets and individual kits, and a unique, user-friendly drag and drop concept. It also includes as screen where customers can calculate all cost and benefit parameters, as well as a quick quotation module.
PowerDesign also enables EntelliPro, GE’s intelligent motor management system with touch screen capability, to be incorporated into low-voltage systems, providing the option to control motors through the switchboard.
Other functionality includes technical drawings featuring both front and rear views and the capability to export outputs to MS Office and PDF format files. Users’ business logos can be displayed on reports and PowerDesign can also accommodate non-GE devices.
