SPS IPC Drives 2015 sets new records

27 November 2015

With 64,386 visitors and 1,666 exhibitors SPS IPC Drives 2015 achieved record figures and confirmed its position as Europe’s leading exhibition of electric automation. The atmosphere in the exhibition halls in Nuremberg was characterized by intensive expert talks.

“For me and my team one year of intensive preparation culminates in the three exhibition days. Our greatest reward is to look into satisfied faces of exhibitors and visitors at the end of the exhibition. This is also what gives us new energy for SPS IPC Drives 2016” Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Vice President for SPS IPC Drives at Mesago, sums it up.

The newly established "Industrie 4.0 Area" as well as the exhibition forums were this years’ highlights and enjoyed special popularity. The visitors took the opportunity to inform themselves comprehensively about Industrie 4.0 – the networked and continuous digital production. Representatives from the areas of research, product development and application discussed the current state of the art products as well as their implementation possibilities in practice.

Key figures at a glance:

Exhibitors: 1,666 (2014: 1,602)
Exhibition area: 122,800 (2014: 117,800)
Visitors: 64,386 (2014: 56,787)

The detailed analysis with further results of SPS IPC Drives 2015 will be available as of February 2016. The next SPS IPC Drives will take place in the Exhibition Center Nuremberg from 22 – 24 November 2016. All relevant information can be viewed online at

Initial exhibitor statements on SPS IPC Drives 2015

“It is very important to us to present our products at SPS IPC Drives. We are not a one-trick pony company but offer a wide product line to our target customers which are all at the exhibition. SPS IPC Drives is perfect to bring us to their awareness. We can absolutely see ourselves coming back and are already brainstorming on how to present ourselves next year.”

Jason Chiang, Sr. Marketing Manager, Microsemi Corporation, USA, first-time exhibitor

“Many visitors ask about systems and the process of digital transformation – about the future, in other words. This forward-thinking mindset is what SPS IPC Drives provides, while staying grounded and avoiding the lure of vague visions. Exhibiting at SPS IPC Drives is also tremendously important for global corporations like ours because it brings the high-end automation market together. We can find out exactly what’s on our customers’ minds, which makes SPS IPC Drives an inspiring event for everyone involved.”

Heinz Eisenbeiss, Head of SIMATEC Marketing, Siemens Division Digital Factory

"SPS IPC Drives is an excellent platform for positioning future topics like Industry 4.0 and demonstrating tangible benefits to customers as through case studies. There are plenty of synergies among the disciplines on hand here, particularly with regard to Industry 4.0. We’re extremely pleased with this exhibition.”

Maximilian Brandl, President, EPLAN and CIDEON

“As a subsidiary of an international company, we see SPS IPC Drives as an opportunity to present ourselves to the German market. It’s home to mechanical engineering companies that represent the best of the best in automation, so we’re showing off our entire range of products. For us, the high-level discussions and unbeatable number of leads SPS IPS Drives offers make it a can't-miss event.”

Benjamin Westdickenberg, General Manager Laser and Country Manager D-A-CH, DATALOGIC

“In 2015 SPS IPC Drives once again has provided us with an ideal platform to present our innovations in the automation sector. It was also successful in keeping our target clients enthusiastic and excited to follow our innovative lead. What really makes the SPS IPC Drives stand out, is the amount of exhibitors that come to discuss their specific projects with us as the automation specialists. This gives us the opportunity to conjointly develop and implement applications with full customer benefit.”

Markus Sandhöfner, CEO, B&R Industrie-Elektronik
