Temporary power specialist joins power systems association
14 October 2016
Permanent and temporary power specialist, ide Systems, has become the latest member of the Association of Manufacturers and suppliers of Power generating Systems (AMPS). The membership adds more authority and credence to ide Systems’ already well-established brand within the power distribution and generation sectors.
AMPS was formed in 1986 to represent manufacturers, suppliers, rental companies and providers in the power generation industry. The association provides technical support to a wide range of members, including FTSE-listed companies, and presents business opportunities through its quarterly magazine, AMPS Power, and regular trade events.
ide Systems is a manufacturer of Electrical distribution equipment, including event distribution boards, LV switchboards, changeover panels, automatic transfer switches and cabling. AMPS membership enhances the company’s ability to lead innovation in the market and allows it to be more responsive to customer demand. This benefits both the company’s standard ranges of pre-manufactured equipment and its bespoke services.
“AMPS is the leading authority for the power generation industry and its knowledge and insight will help us to reach a wider audience,” explained Matt Collins, business development manager at ide Systems. “This allows us to deliver better service to new and existing customers, as well as adapt quickly and effectively to any changes in the electrical industry. It also extends our reach to potential customers and suppliers through this well-established and respected trade body.
“Recent reports from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) have highlighted the widening skills gap in the UK electrical industry. ide Systems is committed to improving the skills of our technicians as well as helping young people into the industry and ex-military personnel get back into work. The range of training courses available to us through AMPS further allows us to develop the skills of new employees and go some way to addressing the knowledge and skills gap.”
The company’s membership of AMPS follows the recent launch of ide Online, a digital store for those seeking pre-manufactured ranges of transformers, distribution panels and other electrical equipment and accessories. This complements ide’s rental service, ide Rental, and bespoke solutions.
