Power distribution expert to exhibit at leading electrical event

Temporary power distribution specialist ide Systems will be exhibiting at the Middle East Electricity (MEE) exhibition at the World Trade Centre in Dubai from February 14–16, 2017. The company will be showcasing its range of power distribution equipment for the events industry from stand B01 in hall 8.

MEE is the largest international trade show for the electrical industry. The event brings together more than 1,500 businesses from over 130 countries worldwide, covering every aspect from power generation and distribution to renewables and lighting. The show is hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Energy.

The products that ide Systems will showcase at the event are designed to provide safe and reliable power to temporary structures. These products range from automatic and manual changeover panels to weatherproof electrical transformers, all of which are designed to meet the IET standards for plug and play power systems at events.

“The UAE events industry has seen rapid growth in recent years,” explained Matt Collins, business development manager at ide Systems. “The industry has seen year-on-year growth of approximately 25 per cent. With that rate of growth comes an increased need for safe and effective power distribution, particularly for intensive events such as the F1 grand prix.

“While ide Systems has established itself as an electrical specialist in the UK, the Middle East is a market that we are continuing to develop into. We have recently been working on several projects in the region, including one with load bank expert Crestchic, and MEE presents the opportunity for further electrical projects.”

A key reason for the rising number of Middle East projects undertaken by ide Systems is due to the weather conditions of the area. As the climate is harsh in areas such as Dubai, it is critical that all fixed and temporary electrical equipment can perform effectively under the conditions.

“The weather in Middle Eastern countries is dramatically different to that of Western locations,” continued Collins. “As such, electrical equipment must be designed to not only deliver sufficient voltages but also be protected from contaminants such as dust and sand. In addition to this, components must be able to withstand the high temperatures of the region.

“Our event distribution equipment is housed in high density polyethylene enclosures that protect the internal components from harmful particulates. They also have a service temperature of up to 80 degrees Celsius and good impact resistance, making them ideal for harsher environments. High density polyethylene is the highest quality material available on the market for electrical enclosures, maximising product life more effectively than standard polypropylene.”
