Danfoss exhibits versatile new range of drives at Offshore Europe
3 August 2017
Danfoss Drives is showcasing its versatile VACON® and VLT® ranges of drives at this year’s SPE Offshore Europe Conference and Exhibition, which will take place from 5-8 of September, 2017 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC). Visitors to the exhibition will find Danfoss products for offshore applications on stand 1C63, where they will also be able to discuss their own specific requirements with Danfoss experts.
A major exhibition highlight is the introduction of the VACON® 3000, a new modular drive solution that brings high performance to medium voltage (MV) applications. The VACON® 3000 expands the existing Danfoss portfolio of low and high power AC drives by adding robust, reliable and easy-to-integrate MV solutions that are ideal for applications in segments such as oil and gas, marine and offshore. They are a particularly attractive option where there is a need for high powers or where long motor cables are required.
With a global presence and more than 49 years of drives experience, Danfoss Drives offers a complete portfolio of VLT® and VACON® drives for marine and offshore needs, ranging from compact units optimized for the control of fans and small pumps to rugged multi-megawatt drives for bow thrusters and other propulsion applications. All are backed by Danfoss’ renowned expert engineering support.
In particular, Danfoss can provide information and application advice relating to shore-connection grid converters and hybridization systems. Hybrid systems combine electrical and conventional propulsion with a battery for energy storage. This arrangement reduces capital and operating expenditure (CAPEX and OPEX), as well as eliminating engine over dimensioning, improving system efficiency and increasing system availability.
The full range of Danfoss drives provide cost-effective solutions for a very wide range of applications, and their robust construction ensures that they will provide long, reliable service even in challenging environments. Danfoss drives are easy to install and use, with enclosed versions offering a wide range of integrated options. The range includes both air-cooled and liquid-cooled types.
To offer further information and insightful case studies to exhibition participants and all those interested, Danfoss has created a dedicated web page for marine and offshore services, which can be found at drives.danfoss.co.uk/industries/marine-and-offshore/#/
