NCH Europe launches BioAmp 600 and FreeFlow Extreme

27 September 2017

NCH Europe's wastewater treatment range has been updated with the launch of the BioAmp 600 and FreeFlow Extreme. The BioAmp 600 dispenses FreeFlow Extreme bacteria into wastewater streams to help reduce effluent disposal fees. This means that businesses facing increased Mogden charges in the hospitality, commercial kitchen and food processing industries have a new cost-saving system they need.

Developed by NCH Europe’s Wastewater Innovation Platform, BioAmp is a range of automated biological delivery systems that automatically dose waste streams daily, resulting in highly consistent dosing and reduced manual labour. The BioAmp 600 is the latest addition to this product family, growing and dispensing trillions of active safe bacteria to digest suspended solids (SS) and reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD).

This dispenser replaces the previous BioAmp 300, offering twice the performance for half the up-keep. To complement this upgraded engineering, the bacteria that the BioAmp 600 dispenses have become extreme.

"FreeFlow Extreme is a new cocktail of highly-active bacteria," explained Steve Martin, projects director of the wastewater and biologicals platform at NCH Europe. "The number of bacteria has doubled compared with previous FreeFlow products, meaning more suspended solids are digested in a shorter space of time.

"We believe this will be especially useful for those in the food and beverage industry who are hoping to reduce unnecessary costs. Quite often, companies accept their monthly water bills without considering whether anything could be done to reduce them. By taking the FreeFlow Extreme approach, businesses will see a dramatic decrease in effluent disposal fees."

This launch will also ensure businesses comply with legal regulations to prevent fines from local authorities. If fats, oils and greases aren't treated effectively in wastewater, they can accumulate later in the sewer system, creating huge fatbergs, which are very damaging and costly to utilities companies and local authorities. These fatbergs can be traced back to businesses who may be fined to cover repair costs under changing legislation, so it's important not to fall foul of this offence.

Together, the engineering of the BioAmp 600 and microbiology of the FreeFlow Extreme is a unique combination of effective wastewater treatment and technical advancement. This product launch comes as part of NCH Europe's innovation month, a pivotal month that brings a new selection of problem-solving products to industry.
