IMI Precision Engineering showcases its products on the EPLAN Data Portal

27 April 2018

Leading fluid control company IMI Precision Engineering has joined the ever-increasing ranks of component suppliers that provide comprehensive data for their products via the EPLAN Data Portal. A web-based platform that can be used free of charge, the Data Portal gives specifiers and engineers instant access to high quality, standardised information and CAD drawings for electrical, mechanical, fluidic and pneumatic products.

The EPLAN Data Portal includes technical specifications, ordering information, installation manuals, graphical images, logical symbols and 3D macros for designing with the EPLAN platform. It is expanding constantly, but it currently contains data for more than 822,000 components from over 220 manufacturers.

IMI Precision Engineering is a specialist engineering company that designs, manufactures and services highly engineered products that control the precise movement of fluids. Its innovative technologies, which focus on valves, air preparation and actuators, enable vital processes to operate safely, cleanly, efficiently and cost effectively. Now, thanks to the information available via the EPLAN Data Portal, it is easier than ever to select products from the IMI Norgren range to suit specific applications, and to add the associated product data to drawings and documentation.

“IMI Precision Engineering has an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality and value, so we are delighted to be adding information about the company’s products to the EPLAN Data Portal,” said Ken Christie, EPLAN UK Director. “IMI Precision Engineering offers a wide variety of innovative products and solutions for use in almost critical engineering industry sectors of industry, and the information the company is providing will undoubtedly be a valuable benefit for portal users.”

The EPLAN Data Portal is an integral part of the EPLAN computer-aided engineering (CAE) platform, which allows users to significantly reduce costly engineering time, and also to easily generate the detailed and accurate documentation that is invariably required by today’s end users of automation systems.

High quality, standardised parts data is instantly available online 24/7 via the EPLAN Data Portal, which can be accessed directly via the EPLAN Platform when configuring a project, via the EPLAN Data Portal app when using a mobile device, or via the internet and software when creating projects.

Non-EPLAN users can also access the portal free of charge to download graphical device data in DXF format, technical characteristics and commercial information. The EPLAN Data Portal can be accessed at eplandata.de/portal/.

For IMI Precision Engineering’s customers, the EPLAN Data Portal combines ease of use with straightforward access to data, which shortens the engineering process. This allows the customers to focus on their key competencies rather than having to spend time sourcing individual product details.
