19/07/2005 - POWTECH 2005: The Power of Progress
"POWTECH is a real success story," says a delighted Claudia Schreglmann, Project Manager of POWTECH. "Today, three months before the start of the event, we have already far exceeded the amount of display space in 2004," says Claudia Schreglmann. "More than 640 exhibitors have already firmly booked to exhibit on a space of some 17,500 m2. Overall, we assume a final figure of 950 exhibitors at the combined POWTECH and TechnoPharm 2005." POWTECH 2005, the International Trade Fair for Mechanical Processing Technologies and Instrumentation, takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 11-13 October 2005.

Particle analysis and mechanical processing technologies are the two sectors in which the whole industry expects decisive impetus for progress in the coming years. "The around 13,500 trade visitors expected in October can experience this impetus live," explains Claudia Schreglmann: "The exhibitors at the leading trade fair for mechanical processing technologies and instrumentation offer a complete, finely structured spectrum of products from the pioneering technologies for processing powder, granules and bulk solids." This year’s POWTECH once again offers an extensive and interesting supporting programme:

Theme pavilion: "Nano goes POWTECH"
The latest achievements of nanotechnology in the field of processing technologies and instrumentation are presented in the 3rd "Nano goes POWTECH" theme pavilion in hall 7 throughout the exhibition. The theme pavilion organized by the Center for NanoTechnology - CeNTech GmbH presents both the findings of fundamental research and nanoparticle technologies already commercialized in industry.

Scratch-free, non-fogging or dirt-repellent surfaces, bio-encapsulated nanometal particles for alternating magnetic field cancer therapy, new processes for the manufacture and characterization of nanoscale particles - nanotechnology is one of the most varied fields of research and is already part of everyday life. Such great success poses numerous problems in practice, which can often only be solved by interdisciplinary approaches. This particularly means the targeted implementation of spectacular research findings in controllable production processes, from particle analysis to processing technology.

First Bulk Days at POWTECH
The Bulk Academy is organizing the two-day première of the Bulk Days on 12-13 October 2005.
Know-how improves efficiency - in terms of both personal work and operational results. The Bulk Days offer participants the opportunity to talk to leading international practical experts and scientists, when they present and discuss their views and findings on bulk solids technology. The speakers present interesting problem solutions and new and improved plant systems. Approaches to solutions will be worked out together with the participants in workshops. The conference language is English; more information is available at www.bulkdays.com.

Explosive themes at POWTECH 2005
Industrial safety and explosion protection are currently more topical than ever in the powder and bulk solids processing industry. So it is obvious that POWTECH 2005 as leading trade fair for mechanical processing technologies offers a platform for these key themes. Many exhibitors provide information about ex-protected plant components and processes in the "ExploRisk Zone" in hall 7.

Safety first
The International Symposium of the European Safety Management Group (ESMG) during the exhibition presents the latest developments in industrial safety and the technical principles of explosion protection. The extensive programme ranges from safety research, quantitative risk analysis, explosion engineering and information systems for safety engineering to preventive and design explosion protection (dust, gases and liquids). Especially impressive are the daily demonstrations of dust explosions in the exhibition centre park, which show practical examples of the tremendous potential hazard.

Well informed before and during the exhibition
The detailed hall floor plans and the latest list of exhibitors are available at www.powtech.de/floorplans and www.powtech.de/exhibitorsandproducts respectively and enable visitors to plan an efficient exhibition visit in advance. Besides the possibility of searching for nomenclature items and their suppliers, this online catalogue now offers a new facility for obtaining a list of all companies at POWTECH that supply products and services for the product groups nanotechnology, cosmetics, explosion protection and packaging. Visitors can find all the other information about the exhibition, supporting programme, travel and accommodation in Nürnberg at www.powtech.de.

Claudia Schreglmann advises all visitors: "Use POWTECH 2005 to source information about the latest trends in the industry in intensive dialogue with experts: The combination with TechnoPharm 2005 and the integration of ExploRisk also offer many theme and technological synergies. The visit to the exhibition is rounded off by the exhibitors’ informative and interesting presentations at the Exhibitors Forum - all topics and times available soon at: www.powtech.de/exhibitorsforum.
