3M EXTENDS SUCCESSFUL CUBITRON II RANGE FOR STEEL APPLICATION

Diversified technology company 3M has extended its Cubitron II Range of abrasive solutions due to the continuing success of the innovative technology behind the products.The new Cubitron II Cut and Grind Wheels by 3M offers particular benefits for the following processes: cutting; notching; gouging; fillet weld removal and bevelling of both mild and stainless steel. Tests have also proved that not only does the range offer an extended service life against its competitors, but also performs significantly faster too. These capabilities are made possible by the use of precision shaped grain technology, first introduced in the Cubitron II Range of Abrasive Belts and Discs from 3M.
The wheels can remove the same amount of material with less pressure, making it easier for the operator to use. A number of industries could benefit from this including; ship and boat building in the transportation industry; structural steel and pipe & vessel in the metal fabrication industry, and assisting in machinery manufacturing for a variety of industries.
David Atherton, senior marketing executive for the 3M Abrasive Systems Division, explained: "Due to the popularity of the Cubitron II range of products and the innovative new technologies that back them, we have been able to extend our product range to include a more specific cut and grind wheel. This means they cut faster and last longer. Tests show the Cubitron II Cut and Grind Wheels by 3M achieve significantly increased output with less pressure required from the user.
