3M TO SHOWCASE FULL RANGE OF PPE SOLUTIONS AT EDINBURGH HEALTH & SAFETY EVENT

A wide range of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be showcased by diversified technology company 3M on stand 6 at the Health & Safety event at Edinburgh's Royal Highland Centre on 7-8 September 2011.Visitors will be among the first to see 3M's new Aura 9300+ Disposable Respirators, which are an evolution of 3M's 9300 Comfort Series Disposable Respirator Series incorporating a new, technically-advanced filter material and several innovative design features. They are ideal for most industries where workers require protection against particulate hazards. As well as an exclusive introduction to the product, 3M will be distributing a limited number of product samples at the event.
Sarah Broadbent of 3M's Safety Solutions will also be delivering two seminars on 'Light Hazards in the Spotlight' at 1.40pm on Wednesday 7 September and at 10.20am on Thursday 8 September.
Sarah explains: "People are increasingly aware of the need to protect themselves from the sun in their leisure time, but often there is not the same awareness in the workplace. Light hazards, including visible, artificial, ultraviolet and infrared light, can all present potential hazards to the eyes and skin.
"These seminars will provide invaluable information on the different types of light exposure and how they can be the cause of detrimental health effects in the workplace and will offer guidance on how suitable and adequate PPE can be selected to ensure workers are protected."
