Click here to view videoThe Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Biogas Association ADBA trade show at the NEC this week has been hailed a tremendous success by BCI Process, having taken one of the largest exhibition stands at the show, the specialist pipework, fabrication and tank system provider reports that enquiries came thick and fast during the show and the quality of the companies making contact was extremely high.
BCI Process used the ADBA show to publically launch the Lipp tanking system to the UK market. Technical experts were available throughout the two day show to explain the construction and materials technology that originated in Germany and has since been used to create over 3,000 anaerobic digestion plants around the world.
Not previously employed in the UK the Lipp system uses a dual skin tank construction method which is manufactured on site to create a gas tight container that can be adapted for storage or used as a digester tank with a water jacket, insulation and exterior cladding. The double fold construction method creates both a smooth stainless steel interior surface and a structural ridge on the exterior that provides both rigidity and total protection from leaks.
Andrew Shedden, UK Sales and Marketing Manager for BCI Process commented, "Electricity feed-in tariffs have favoured other markets such as Germany and Italy for localised energy plant construction - until now. The UK has the right conditions for a far greater use of biogas production plants fuelled by feed crops, food waste, animal slurry or a mixture of feed-in materials.

The Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Biogas Association ADBA was established in 2009 as a not-for-profit organisation representing businesses in the anaerobic digestion sector, to help remove the barriers to growth for the industry and to promote the benefits of AD to the UK market.
The Association has stated its intention to help realise the potential of the AD industry in the UK, and allow this sector to deliver energy security and economic growth - in waste management, farming, transport and food processing, among others - while also combating climate change.
