ALBION RECOMMENDS THE MONOLINK FOR EFFICIENCY IN HYDRONIC SYSTEMS

UK based valves supplier, Albion Valves is recommending distributors feature the Monolink in their hydronic products portfolio. An increasingly popular engineering solution, the Monolink is an innovative and compact terminal unit connection system, designed to simplify and streamline the process of hydronic balancing in commercial heating and cooling systems.

Hydronic balancing is the process of optimizing the distribution of water in a central heating system, so it maintains an intended temperature at optimum energy efficiency at minimum operating cost. Large buildings such as schools, hospitals and offices have complicated water distribution networks, with multiple valves, pipes, couplings and pressure controls, often creating complex installations and ongoing maintenance issues.

In a poorly balanced system, problems can occur with temperature control and inefficiencies in water circulation, consequently driving up operating costs and wasting energy. For accurate and efficient system functioning, each terminal unit in the network needs to be isolated, strained, vented and balanced. Assembling all the components to achieve these features can be incredibly labour intensive for engineers -the Monolink helps address this.

The Monolink is a preassembled factory tested valve arrangement, in which one single unit combines all the features required for a terminal end to meet a distribution pipe; including a strainer, bypass valve, balancing valve and drain cock with no need for assembly on site.

The Monolink is adaptable for a wide range of pipe connections; its H block structure comprises only four simple union joint connections instead of the standard 22. In addition, the simple and highly compact arrangement minimizes the time and space required to connect, allowing much easier installation than the traditional approach and with a much-reduced risk of leakage.

In accordance with the BSRIA (Building Services Research and Information Association) the Monolink also contains all the features required for the process of flushing, reverse flushing and chemical cleaning heating and cooling systems, prior to balancing and setting for standard operation. The one-piece H block design is patented, and comes with a five-year warranty.

Les Littlewood, Albion Sales & Marketing Director commented:

"At Albion our team invests much time into identifying the very best engineering solutions for our distributors. The Monolink is one product in which we have complete confidence, offering easy installation and excellent performance. The H block design and fewer couplings means less chance of leakage than in a traditionally plumbed system, and with minimal pressure drop and easy flushing mechanisms the Monolink ticks all the boxes."

Albion currently stocks around 5000 lines of industrial valves, suitable for applications predominantly within the process, water and HVAC industries. The new product range is supported by instantaneous customer support, information on pricing; discount structures, and stock availability.
