This September from the 4th till the 5th, Sartorius Industrial Weighing will be hosting the latest in their annual "Explanation" seminars. Bringing together experts from Trading standards and the British Retail Consortium, the two day seminar promises to provide key information to all manufacturers of packaged foods.Food manufacturing regulations can be confusing. Even for the most experienced manufacturers the breadth and depth of regulation and legislation can be overwhelming. "Explanation 2013" from Sartorius Industrial Weighing, is the only UK seminar series that brings together Trading Standards experts and the British Retail Consortium to offer detailed training on the most important legislation topics for today's manufacturers.
This year the two day seminar will be held in the world famous Silverstone wing at the very home of British racing, the Silverstone Grand Prix track. Day one, taking place on September 4th will see Trading Standards representatives in consultation with the NWML explain the most important aspects of average weight legislation. This training will be led by the same people who teach Trading Standards officers, and will simplify into easy to understand modules all the requirements of the packaged goods regulation 2006.
Day two will allow participants to learn how BRC global standards are working to improve food safety. The talk will be presented by the BRC Technical Director and will mark the first time that Packaged Goods Regulation and BRC Global Standards experts have been brought together under one roof.
Explanation 2013 promises to provide a unique opportunity for food manufacturers to come together and question the experts outside of an inspection or auditing environment. Every attendee will receive detailed information and legal documentation to take with them, and will also be presented with a certificate upon completion of the training.
Last year's Explanation seminar held in the Concorde conference centre, under the shadow of the Concorde itself, proved extremely popular and tickets sold out well in advance. Attendance to this year's event is open to anyone with an interest in developing their knowledge of food safety standards, with tickets for a single day priced at £178 and attendance to both days offered at the discounted rate of £300. The cost of attendance includes lunch and an in-depth information pack for every attendee. For only an additional £59, ticket holders can receive a room in the Snoozebox hotel on the 4th of September, located within the Silverstone circuit itself.
