altair® marks 50 years of providing reliable filters to energy and marine industry

altair® celebrates its 50th Anniversary this month and a champagne reception has been organised at their facilities in Hampshire to mark this event. The MP for East Hampshire, deputy mayor, and local councillors will all be in attendance and gracing this occasion with their presence.

"Being in business for several decades is an accomplishment that calls for a celebration. As we celebrate this historic moment, I cannot but help think about all the milestones the company had to cover to get to where we are today. I wish to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey for your support and encouragement, and hope that we continue on this path and demonstrate a sustained record of success as we move forward", said Paul Sennett, General Manager, Gas Turbine Filtration, altair®.

When the company began in 1966, Brian Croft could not have foreseen that 50 years later, his tiny little business would be a global company. Since then, altair® has expanded exponentially, with products supplied to every corner of the world, and new facilities closely following. Today, the company, now a part of CLARCOR Industrial Air, is a major supplier to a world-renowned gas turbine OEMs.

Sennett further added "altair® has been a major contributor to strengthening the local economy and has played a critical role in providing new employment opportunities. As a customer-oriented business, we have adapted and responded quickly to the changing economic climate, thereby providing the best possible solutions to our partners."

altair® employs 95 people at its facilities in Alton, and 124 people worldwide. It participates in apprentice and internship schemes to help young engineers contribute in the development of cutting-edge filtration products. The business is part of CLARCOR Industrial Air, which employs 1,639 people globally.

altair® provide filters for the oil and gas, power generation, and ship propulsion industries. The altair® branded systems and filters have protected expensive assets from corrosion, replacement and repairs and the protection of gas turbines and diesel generators on and off board ships, including the Royal UK Navy fleet.

As we continue to innovate and grow, let's see what the future has in store?
