Atlas Copco extends energy efficient blower portfolio with ZB 5-120 VSD range

Atlas Copco's Oil-free Air Division has introduced a new range of 100% oil-free centrifugal air blowers with Variable Speed Drive (VSD) technology. The ZB 5-120 VSD range is the latest addition to Atlas Copco's portfolio of energy efficient blowers. A state-of-the-art air foil bearing technology is at the heart of the new ZB range, ensuring high energy efficiency.The ZB range delivers 100 % oil-free air, according to ISO standard 8573-1, and eliminates any risk of oil-contamination in the aeration system. The distinctive air foil bearings allow friction-free flotation of the high speed rotor. Coupled with the leading Variable Speed Drive (VSD) technology, the highest air volume at the lowest energy consumption is assured.
Typically, the aeration system in a biological wastewater treatment plant accounts for up to 70 percent of the total energy usage. To significantly lower operational costs in these continuously operating plants, the new ZB range incorporates the latest technologies in the most efficient and durable design.
