AWARD WINS AT THE DOUBLE FOR INNOVATIVE INTEGRATED VALVE AND ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM

A highly innovative range of cylinders from Norgren, a global market leader in pneumatic motion and fluid control, has scooped two prestigious industry awards.

Launched in 2012, IVAC (Integrated Valve & Actuator Control) can significantly reduce energy usage and operating costs for both OEMs and end users in a range of processing applications.

Firstly, IVAC won the gold award in the 'motion control' category in the annual King Awards organised by New Equipment Digest, a leading US-based industrial magazine and website serving more than 200,000 plant operations, maintenance, engineering, production, purchasing and administrative personnel. The award was won based on votes cast by subscribers to the magazine and website and a panel of judges, and saw IVAC beat off competition from a range of other innovations.

Meanwhile, IVAC has also been honoured with an "Industriepreis Best of 2013" certificate in Germany.

This awards scheme recognises products that "push for smart industry" by delivering economic, sociological, technological and ecological benefits. Twelve hundred companies competed for prizes in 14 categories, judged by independent university lecturers and high-level German businesspeople. IVAC was selected from among 90 entrants in the category of motion and fluid control technologies.

Richard Bull of Norgren commented: "IVAC was designed to meet customer demands for increased uptime, energy efficiency, aesthetics and design flexibility in an integrated package. This recognition through the King Awards and Industriepreis 2013 results highlight our understanding of customer needs and our ability to deliver Engineering Advantage through our innovative approach, high-performance products, and outstanding local service."
