BEST RESOLUTION FOR THE PRICE
20/07/2011 FLIR Systems UK (*Teledyne FLIR)
FLIR Systems is the technology leader in thermal imaging and one of its greatest strengths derives from the company's parallel development of hardware and software. Both are more powerful and affordable than ever with building inspection and energy management sectors being the greatest beneficiaries of this investment. At The Energy Event 2011 FLIR Systems will be demonstrating its comprehensive B-Series range of thermal imaging cameras with dedicated features for speedy and effective detection of building faults and energy loss. They extend from compact, troubleshooting models through to the highly powerful with every sophisticated feature necessary for advanced temperature measurement and analysis. An under-floor heating panel on the stand will allow visitors to put the cameras through their paces.
The latest additions to the company's range are in the middle to high-end band. The new FLIR T600bx Series is a great example of the company's ability to provide exceptional quality at surprisingly low price. Indeed, in that regard, these thermal imaging cameras are unique in their class.
Expert models
The FLIR T620bx and T640bx models are highly ergonomic and easy to use even when wearing personal protection equipment. Both are equipped with a state-of-the-art uncooled microbolometer detector that produces crisp, 640 x 480 pixel thermal images on which the smallest of details can be seen. Naturally insulation and humidity alarms are standard features.
The camera's scope of application is enhanced by a choice of lenses beyond the standard 25°; FLIR offers the best variety of exchangeable optics on the market. This flexibility is complemented by a rotating optical block that makes it easy to capture images from difficult angles.
The high resolution thermal imaging that characterises the FLIR T-Series models is matched by high resolution visible light images. Both models incorporate a 5 megapixel digital camera that generates sharp reference images.
Entry level plus
The new FLIR Ebx-Series provides the best thermal imaging and digital camera resolution in its class. These cameras are designed for those wanting enhanced imaging quality and more analysis functions from an entry level thermal imaging camera.
Three versions complete this new series with the top-of-the-range model, the FLIR E60bx, providing 76,800 pixels from its 320 x 240 uncooled detector. This enables the user to see greater detail than with lower specification entry level cameras.
Within its ethos of offering better thermal imaging cameras for lower prices, FLIR Systems also leads the way on wireless connectivity. The FLIR Tbx- and Ebx-Series enable the wireless transmission of readings from an Extech clamp meter or moisture meter to the camera via a feature called Meterlink™. Also, images and other information can be sent to mobile devices such as an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad so users can share critical information immediately with decision makers on-site or via email.
The cameras can also be specified with FLIR Reporter for more extensive reporting options and also FLIR BuildIR. This advanced software includes, for example, energy cost estimation, dew point calculation, air filtration visualisation and air tightness reporting as well as the clever Panorama image stitching tool.
