Four years on from its debut at Interpack, ILAPAK's game-changing VT 6000 is proving to be the bagger of choice for high throughput biscuit, snack and cracker operations world-wide.According to Andrea Boccolini, VFFS Division Product Manager at ILAPAK, the machine's popularity is due to its ability to combine high speeds, reliability and low cost of ownership.
"On the VT 6000, vibration is controlled via the design of the frame and the use of lightweight materials for moving parts, allowing it to run at high speeds with very low level wear on parts. Added to this, the VT 6000 offers unrivalled accessibility, which translates to ease of use for operators during day to day machine operation and easier and shorter maintenance procedures. A further reason that high speed bakery operations are favouring the VT 6000 is that it can be supplied as part of a full line solution, integrated with dosing, weighing, vision counting and multi-pack systems.
"We offer something that 90% of our competitors don't: full solutions. It is critical for high throughput bakery operations that downtime is kept to a minimum. This is best achieved by sourcing equipment from a single supplier, for simplified operation, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting."
The continuous motion VT 6000 can pack both fresh and frozen (IQF) bakery products in a variety of bag styles, including pillow, block bottom, Quattro and Doy-style packs. Access is facilitated by the machine's open frame design, clean film carriage and a unique mounting of the forming tube on a swivel arm for easy removal.
The new ETHERCAT electronic platform allows the machine to run in different sealing modes with great flexibility when selecting the jaw profile. This means ILAPAK's bakery customers can now run with the optimum sealing profile configuration for their full range of products, from large bags with complex laminate films through to small bags with simpler films, and everything in between. For example, customers can select the full box motion mode when longer sealing time and higher sealing pressure are required, or easily adjust sealing parameters and match the performance of a rotary jaw machine when speed is of the essence.
