BPMA Announces Next CPSA Course

The next CPSA (Certified Pump System Auditor) course has been scheduled for 18-21 November 2019 at the BPMA offices in West Bromwich.Global studies have shown that most pumping systems are oversized and operate inefficiently, wasting huge amounts of motor electricity. This lecture-based course held over a continuous four-day period, illustrates the importance of pumping systems and how to identify the system load, i.e. the minimum amount of liquid required to operate a process efficiently. It also identifies the various other opportunities available to reduce overall operating costs. The course is aimed at engineers, technicians, personnel involved in energy management and anyone with plant & equipment operational responsibility.
The course is split into three parts:
-€¢ QPSAT (as mandated by US DOE) which consists of theory, practical work and an exam.
-€¢ Solutions coursework which investigates the load profiles of pump sets and consists of theory and class worked examples
-€¢ Pump system energy assessment standard, ISO 14414 which advises and identifies the correct way to implement a pump system energy audit and what information should be covered in the final report.
The overall objective of the CPSA Scheme is to help improve the levels of professionalism in the sector by creating a universally recognised and respected industry 'standard' for individuals assessing the performance of a pumping system.
