BPMA Freezes Membership Fees

Representing the interests of UK and Irish manufacturers and suppliers of liquid pumps and other pump related equipment, the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) was established as a not-for-profit trade association in 1941.

Since that time, the BPMA has consistently championed the production, distribution and installation of legally compliment, energy efficient and correctly specified pumps, along with their related equipment and systems.

With a range of member benefits, including a sophisticated programme of training courses, the production and delivery of an annual Buyers Guide & Directory, a dedicated quarterly 'pump-users' magazine, a comprehensive online Pump Search facility, an annual awards programme, and representation at a host of trade exhibitions, the BPMA helps to promote pump innovation and technical excellence across the pump using arena.

As an influential member of Europump - the international body of 17 National Pump Associations in 14 EU Member States, Turkey, Russia & Switzerland - the BPMA also provides its 84 strong membership with detailed information on the standards, directives and product compliance matters that effect their business operation. Europump members represent more than 450 companies with a collective production worth more than -‚¬10 billion and employing 100,000 people throughout Europe, and the BPMA sits at the heart of this key industrial sector.

BPMA membership continues to offer real value for money, and historically any increase in annual fees has always been in line with inflation and increased operational costs, which in recent years has been in the region of 2.5% pa.

However, last year the BPMA Council agreed that a reduced increase of 1.5% should be levied. Additionally, and as part of the overall membership package, it was agreed that all members would receive a copy of the World Pump Report, produced by Oxford Economics, and which hitherto had been made available for purchase at a discounted rate.

Understandably, this approach was very well received across the membership, and so this year, with a healthy cash reserve, the BPMA Council and President have again agreed to issue the World Pump Report free-of-charge to members. It has also been agreed to freeze the membership fees at the 2018 rate.
