Britain says goodbye to skills Olympians

Over 1,000 bright spark electricians, robot engineers, IT whizzes and brickies are making their way home after competing in WorldSkills London 2011 which many describe as an Olympics for skills.Almost 1,000 young people from more than 50 Member countries and regions competed to be world champions in 46 diverse skill areas including Bricklaying, Landscape Gardening, Beauty Therapy, Cooking and Autobody Repair and Hairdressing.
A record 200,000 young people visited and Team UK fielded its largest team ever. The winners were announced at the Closing Ceremony last night with the medal table available at http://www.worldskills.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1178&Itemid=817
