Conveyor system for hygienic environments to take centre stage for Interroll at PPMA
13/08/2024 Interroll Ltd
Materials handling solutions manufacturer Interroll will showcase its versatile Special Hygienic Conveyor (SHC) for food processors at the PPMA Show (stand E60).
The modular platform is an easy-to-integrate handling solution for crates, cartons, packaged food and small boxes that can be deployed in environments where stringent hygiene requirements are in place.
Built from stainless steel to ensure durability, corrosion resistance, and easy cleaning, all components of the conveyor system are also waterproof to at least IPX5 certification.
Many of the components making up the system - including the hygienic drum motors - are also available to other OEMs looking to create solutions for food production environments.
Hilton Campbell, managing director of Interroll UK said: “Like all manufacturing sectors, increasing process efficiency impacts the bottom line for food manufacturers, but this can’t come at the expense of the highest hygiene standards.
“Our SHC gives food factory operators the opportunity to deploy a highly efficient materials handling solution in their plant with high levels of flexibility and no compromise on food safety.
“The modular design makes it quick and easy to create custom systems to suit the workflow in virtually every factory configuration, and also simplifies the installation process.”
The SHC includes a Zero Pressure Accumulation feature, a first for the food sector, delivering quick and smooth conveying without contact between products, enhancing efficiency while reducing environmental impact and operational costs by up to 50%.
