Danfoss is keeping World Cup cool

The global company Danfoss has supplied products for several of the FIFA World Cup facilities in Brazil. Common to all installations is that Danfoss is helping to keep players and guests cool and comfortable; while saving energy.

In the World Cup sports arenas, Danfoss technology - such as variable speed drives and scroll compressors - are saving up to 30% energy in the air-conditioning systems and ensuring comfortable temperatures. Danfoss products are also optimizing the air-conditioning systems in the new buses that transport players and guests between the various locations and in the FIFA broadcast headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, where journalists from around the world report on the games.

Julio Molinari, President of Danfoss Latin America, says: "We think it has been fantastic to be able to contribute to the World Cup, providing the best possible comfort for the players and audience. The energy savings achieved through our products are crucial in Brazil as resources are limited and electricity costs high."

Over the past five years, Danfoss has experienced high growth in Brazil driven by increased demand for energy savings, improved infrastructure and better cooling of food; which is one of the country's top export areas. Today, Brazil is Danfoss' 8th largest market with approx. 400 employees.
