Danfoss Leads the Way in Green Building Practices in the Middle East

The Middle East is experiencing a major boom in MEP projects. Large scale construction projects, both retrofit and new projects, are springing up across the Gulf.

Sustainable building design is gaining popularity in the region with designers and construction firms trying to find the most eco-friendly way to construct buildings. Danfoss was at the forefront of the green building movement in the United Arab Emirates, by introducing eco-friendly technology that offers the highest level of energy efficiency.

Danfoss was therefore one of the major sponsors at the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) Contractors Middle East Summit recently organized by IQPC in Dubai. A lot of industry leaders and experts attended the summit where many issues around building construction and the infrastructure industry were discussed. But there was one area in particular being covered that is very relevant to Danfoss expertise; how to make your HVAC system as cost and energy efficient as possible.

Jesper Therbo - HVAC Business Development Director, Danfoss Power Electronics - presented his paper "HVAC Energy Efficiency Legislation Trends and New High Efficiency Technologies" which focused on how to manage HVAC systems more efficiently. He also spoke about the role of new electrical motor technologies and drive control systems such as the Danfoss VLT HVAC Drive in optimizing system efficiency and performance without compromising the quality of a MEP system. Therbo's presentation was followed by a presentation by Biju Kannan - Senior Sales Manager, Danfoss RC-CC - who highlighted the role of "Inverter Scroll Technology" in improving the performance and energy efficiency of HVAC systems.

"The presentation received a positive response from the attendees," according to Jesper Therbo. "Participants were very keen to learn more about our products and solutions and it was a great opportunity for us to interact with the Middle East construction industry experts and to exchange insights into some of the major MEP trends and innovations taking place in the Middle East."

"The event gave us the opportunity to highlight the energy saving potential of our products and technologies. But the event has also shown us there is a need for taking a broader deployment of existing energy efficiency technologies to be able to support the Gulf's green efforts," Jesper Therbo concluded.
