DURAPIPE UK HAS RECORD YEAR WITH DUAL CONTAINED PIPEWORK

An increased demand for dual contained pipework systems in the industrial sector led to a 27% increase in sales for Durapipe UK in 2012.Sales for Durapipe's Guardian system were up 68% year on year, with the vast majority of installations in the water treatment and process sector. With ever stricter health and safety legislation, plant managers are increasingly looking to improve safety measure in plants and Guardian has provided the perfect solution.
Another brand experiencing fantastic growth is PLX, Durapipe's specialist dual contained fuel conveyance pipework system, which achieved excellent sales last year, up an impressive 24% on the previous year's UK sales.
A long-established product in the forecourt market, PLX was installed in more than 70 forecourts worldwide every month of the year. However, the record sales can be attributed to expansion into new markets, with the system increasingly being installed for emergency power applications. Supplying the fuel to emergency generators, PLX has been specified as part of the back-up power solutions for a variety of buildings including process and water treatment plants, hospitals and data centres, to ensure vital operations remain active should the mains power fail.
Commenting on its record year, Durapipe UK marketing manager Mitchell Holmes said: "Safety has become the number one priority so specifiers and consultants are increasingly looking for products that protect the public and environment, in addition to boasting high performance characteristics. Incorporating a patented Centralok™ system, Durapipe Guardian is the only dual containment system which provides a solid inner pipe fitting, making it easier to install as the inner pipe is in a fixed position and can be easily jointed, compared with alternative dual containment products where the inner section moves freely.
Manufactured in PVC-U material, Durapipe Guardian allows the safe transportation of different fluids and some chemical concentrates without fear of corrosion and environmental pollution. Durapipe Guardian is available in sizes from ½"#2" up to 8"#12".
