Eaton expands steel adapter portfolio to offer more than 2,000 parts in EMEA

Power management company Eaton today announced the relaunch and expansion of its steel adapter portfolio in EMEA, with more than 2,000 part numbers to be offered starting in the first quarter of 2021.

Standardized to fit almost any hydraulic fluid conveyance application, Eaton’s broad steel adapter portfolio spans many sizes and end connections. Already proven in the North America and Asia Pacific markets, Eaton’s steel adapters enable the highest performing hose assemblies for a wide range of industries, such as mining, oil and gas, renewable power, and transportation. When Eaton hoses and steel adapters are combined as a complete system, the resulting assemblies can support much higher operating pressures — up to 125 percent above Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standards.

Eaton’s steel adapters also come with Dura-Kote™ plating as standard. This innovative plating technology offers up to 10 times better corrosion protection than SAE standards, preventing red rust for a minimum of 720 hours. As a result, Dura-Kote™ enables a longer in-application lifespan for Eaton’s steel adapters, as well as an improved appearance, no incompatibility issues, lower maintenance costs, reduced downtime and less chance of leakage. Additionally, Eaton’s steel adapters maintain a 4:1 safety factor across all configurations and sizes to protect both people and equipment.

“Our comprehensive steel adapter portfolio offers huge advantages for customers in EMEA,” comments Christian Kuenstel, product manager connectors, Eaton EMEA. “We combine the proven ability to enable outstanding hose assembly performance with a wide range of designs that can meet varied application demands. Exceeding industry specifications for both operating pressures and corrosion resistance, our steel adapters can unlock much greater value for customers.”

Eaton’s available steel adapter configurations include:

  • ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal)
  • BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel thread)
  • NPTF (National Pipe Thread)
  • ORB (O-ring Boss Seal)
  • Split Flange
  • SAE 37 Degree Flare (JIC)
  • Metric Terminal ends

“As a global business we can offer the availability, fast delivery times and competitive prices customers need to succeed in today’s market,” adds Kuenstel. “We can also provide bespoke steel adapter testing and certification to help our customers meet their specific application demands.”

Adhering to strict SAE design criteria, Eaton’s steel adapters are rigorously tested to ensure they provide the best possible performance in conjunction with other Eaton products. Manufactured in ISO-certified facilities, Eaton’s steel adapters also undergo the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Product Part Approval Process.
