EEF's Technology Hub opens its doors for summer showcase

EEF's Technology Hub, which trains more than 400 apprentices each year, is showcasing its cutting edge engineering and manufacturing training facilities on 29th June from 3-7pm.The Hub in Aston, Birmingham has been designed and equipped to replicate the very latest real-life engineering and manufacturing workplaces, enabling apprentices and people already working in the manufacturing and engineering sector to experience hands-on learning in a real-life manufacturing workplace.
Training managers and employees currently working in the sector can come along to the Hub and see the factory and its industry standard tool room, alongside the very latest in robotics in action. We will be on hand to help businesses plan out their technical training needs in order to upskill their workforce.
The facility boasts 280 IT stations, £1.3million of the very latest equipment and tools housed in specialist areas devoted to developing technological skills, including electronics and rapid prototyping.
Speaking about the open day, EEF's Director of Training, Neil Withey said: "We are immensely proud of the Technology Hub and the unique training experience it delivers. The hands-on experience means that all learners are able to learn in real-life environments which enable them to take their learning straight into the workplace and make it effective
"We hope that local manufacturing and engineering business come along on 29th June to see our state of the art facilities and talk to us about how we can support with the upskilling of their workforce.
