ENER-G WINS TECHNOLOGY PROVIDER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Sustainable energy group ENER-G has won the Technology Provider of the Year Award in the Insider North West International Trade Awards.Salford-based ENER-G designs, develops, manufactures and finances energy efficient and renewable solutions on a business-to-business basis globally. It has operating companies, joint ventures and partnerships in 17 countries, including the UK, Hungary, USA, the Netherlands, Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Mexico and Spain, with partners in Canada and across Western and Eastern Europe.
Derek Duffill, Managing Director of ENER-G said: "We provide a complete energy solutions package that is highly exportable as we have the means, and financial support to provide the low and zero carbon technologies and services to meet the specific needs of organisations worldwide. We can provide guaranteed savings without any need for capital outlay by our customers. That's a business model that appeals in any language."
The company has recently opened its ENER-G Group Inc business in the USA, where it has been appointed to deliver a $6.3 million energy services contract at Saint Peter's College in New Jersey. This is the first of a number of US carbon abatement investment projects for the group.
The company's combined heat and power and biogas generation systems, that are designed and manufactured in Salford, are sold across the globe. ENER-G is investing £20m in building seven landfill gas generation plants in South Africa and has recently commissioned facilities in Lithuania and Romania.
Products and services supplied by ENER-G include: combined heat and power (CHP), biogas and methane gas utilisation for power generation; geothermal energy; heat pumps; efficient lighting; air conditioning; building energy controls; metering and data solutions; new generation energy from waste; energy and water management and energy procurement services.
Rupert Cornford, North West Business Insider features editor, said the time to take advantage of overseas opportunities is now. "Everywhere you turn, people talk of an export-led recovery; and with the balance of economic power in the world shifting eastwards towards Asia, it's time to sit up and get involved."
The judges were impressed by ENER-G's entry, which beat off competition from EA Technology and QiSOFT.
The awards programme, which was held in partnership with UK Trade & Investment, was sponsored by American Airlines, Barclays Corporate, Cardinal Maritime, DLA Piper, Corporate Traveller, Grant Thornton, Manchester Airport, Midas and Bibby Financial Services.
