Energy chains in the world’s second largest sea lock!

Sea locks commonly use festoon systems and with that can come issues with maintenance. This is why customers are changing from festoon systems to igus® energy chains.
In this week’s video of the week, the igus® e-chain® is shown powering the sea lock with ease. After retrofitting in 2006, replacing a festoon system, a further retrofit was commissioned in 2011. The chain is fitted with chainflex® cables offering a complete system resistant to UV, sea water and oil.
