Essentra plc had a strong first half of 2026, returning to organic revenue and order growth across all three regions and confirming FY26 expectations are unchanged.
Essentra plc, a leading global provider and manufacturer of essential components and solutions, has announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026. The Group returned to like-for-like revenue and order growth in EMEA, Americas and APAC, supported by volume recovery, disciplined pricing and continued momentum in its faster-growing target end-markets.
Revenue grew 9.8% on a constant currency basis to £166.1m, with reported revenue up 9.0% after a 0.8% currency headwind. Adjusted operating profit rose to £18.1m, with margin improving 20 basis points to 10.9%. Reported operating profit increased 27.4% to £7.2m.
The Group's faster-growing target end-markets – machine building & automation, energy transformation, specialist vehicles, digital infrastructure, and defence & aerospace – now represent around 47% of Group revenue and delivered 8.5% like-for-like growth in the period.
In June, Essentra completed the acquisition of Boteco, an Italian manufacturer of mechanical components, its second bolt-on acquisition in twelve months, strengthening its position in machine building and automation markets.
Commenting on the results, Scott Fawcett, Chief Executive, said:
"Essentra delivered a strong first half, returning to organic revenue and order growth across all three regions." Trading through the period was consistent with the trends seen entering 2026, resulting in 7.8% like-for-like revenue growth and performance in line with the Board's expectations. Alongside investment in growth opportunities, the Group has launched self-help initiatives across its commercial operations, supply chain and cost base to support margin progression and cash generation, including a new 14% adjusted operating margin milestone for 2028 – an important step towards the medium-term 18% target.”
