First Impact Factor for sustainable production journal

The Institution of Chemical Engineers' (IChemE) Sustainable Production and Consumption (SPC) journal has been awarded its first ever Impact Factor.Impact Factors provide a quantitative measurement of a journal in relation to its competitors. An Impact Factor is based on a ratio of the citations to a journal in the most recent year to a count of articles and reviews published in the journal in the prior two years.
SPC, published in conjunction with Elsevier, received an Impact Factor of 3.66 and notably has been included in both the sciences citation index expanded (SCIE) and the social science citation index (SSCI). It is the first IChemE journal to be listed in the SSCI.
It looks at the interactions between technology, consumption and policy to help identify more-sustainable solutions for both production and consumption systems.
All other IChemE journals saw a rise in their Impactor Factors from 2019 rankings.
Process Safety and Environmental Protection (PSEP) saw the biggest increase with an Impact Factor of 4.966 - 13.3% up from 4.384 last year. PSEP is now ranked in the top 25% of journals in both the Environmental Engineering and Chemical Engineering lists.
Chemical Engineering Research and Design (ChERD) jumped 9% from 3.073 to 3.35. While Food and Bioproducts Processing (FBP) received an Impact Factor of 3.726, an increase of 12.1% from 3.324 in 2019. FBP has also moved up in the Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology category ranking from 51st to 41st out of 156 titles.
This year was the second Impact Factor for Molecular Systems Design and Engineering (MSDE), co-owned and published with the Royal Society of Chemistry, which saw a rise from 2.708 to 3.323.
