Free device management software from AUMA

Certified Device Type Manager (DTM) software for AUMA actuators is available free of charge via the company's website. Designed to enable device parameter adjustment using Profibus, the programme is the latest in a series of aids developed by AUMA to enhance the application of its electric actuation technology.Conventionally, industrial valve control operators have needed to physically access actuators to modify the devices' parameters to regulate medium flows for process technology. The DTM software initiative from AUMA eases this process as operators can make adjustments automatically via Profibus.
AUMA reports that the DTM feature offers particular advantages to users when large numbers of actuators are installed which are located some distance apart. Effective parameter optimisation is achieved as access to the device's comprehensive data is achieved via the DTM. A Profibus DP-V1 interface is required to implement the AUMA DTM software.
Independent certification for AUMA's DTM software was given by the FDT group. The programme is available for free download at www.auma.com
