GEA Niro will be represented at POWTECH, the international trade fair for mechanical processing technologies and instrumentation in Nuremberg, Germany, from October 11 to 13 2011. The GEA Niro stand will be in Hall 5, 5-250.Technology at the exhibition
GEA Niro will exhibit a number of technologies, generally recognized as state-of-the-art in the field of spray, freeze, and fluid bed drying for the pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and chemical in-dustries.
-ˆ' The company will display its monitoring system for spray dryers, SPRAYEYE™.The technol-ogy allows for safer use of spray dryers as the new equipment links infra-red cameras to anearly warning system that makes it possible to detect dangerously high temperature in-creases in the powder within the spray dryer before it would be visible to the naked eye using a normal camera. The new cameras make the monitoring of the spray drying pro-cess much easier and safer as it is no longer necessary for an operator to watch the moni-tor to detect abnormalities.
-ˆ' In addition, the company will display its MOBILE MINOR™. This spray dryertechnology is ideal for drying small quantities of solutions, suspensions or emulsions into representative powder samples. Test results from the MOBILE MINOR™ provide important information for establishing process data for commercial production. MOBILE MINOR™ models are availa-ble for both aqueous and solvent-based feedstock. Because different atomization tech-niques apply different energy forms to the liquid feed, the MOBILE MINOR™ offers three different atomization modes to ensure the solution that is best-suited to the task.
-ˆ' The company will also exhibit its ground-breaking technology DRYNETICS™ that allows drying parameters to be established based on the study of one droplet of a given sub-stance. The technique allows real-world measurements (e.g. drying time and stickiness of a given feed) to be incorporated into the CFD software. This makes it possible to establish the spray dryer performance by precisely analysing the results of small-scale experiments. DRYNETICS™ analysis can be used to investigate new designs, improve existing plants and test new products. GEA Niro has vastly improved the accuracy of this technique with its proprietary new method DRYNETICS™ that puts the software on a more scientific footing.
-ˆ' The company is displaying animations of spray drying and fluid bed units in operation. The 3D-animations aim to give an introduction to the company's technology in the dairy and chemical industries. Additionally, the company will show animations of DRYNETICS™ and SPRAYEYE™ in operation.
All week, the company's process technologists and sales managers will be available to discuss how GEA Niro's range of drying systems can be applied for production of a wide range of chemical, pharmaceutical, and food products. GEA Niro specialists are also available to discuss plant up-grades and rebuilds.
