The dataTaker DT82i is a low cost but sophisticated data logger designed for a wide variety of industrial applicationsCAMBRIDGE, England, January 17, 2011 - Grant Instruments (www.grant.co.uk), a worldwide developer and supplier of data acquisition, scientific and life sciences products, has introduced the dataTaker DT82i, a low cost but sophisticated data logger designed for a wide variety of general industrial applications. These include R&D, process or energy monitoring, fault identification, machine down time and vehicle testing.
Based on the highly successful DT80 range of data loggers, the DT82i is an intelligent, robust, stand alone, low power and extremely cost-effective data logger featuring 2 analogue input channels, 4 digital inputs and 4 low speed counters. The unit supports temperature, voltage, current, 4-20mA loops, resistance, bridges, strain gauges and frequency measurements.
The DT82i's Dual Channel Isolation Technology allows up to 4 isolated or 6 common referenced analogue inputs. The DT82i also supports Modbus sensors and SCADA systems, features switchable 12V and 5V regulated outputs to power sensors, and has extensive communications capabilities including RS232 and Ethernet.
The DT82i has a built-in web interface called dEX which allows users to configure the unit, access logged data and see current measurements as mimics or in a list using a web browser. With dEX, no special PC software is required as the software loads in the web browser so there is no need for users to load cumbersome applications on their computer.
The DT82i can store up to 10 million data points in a secure, non-volatile internal 128MB memory with user control available for multiple data files, overwrite modes, alarm histories and automatically archived event records. The unit also features USB memory stick support for easy data and programme transfer.
The dataTaker DT82i is the latest in a range of data acquisition products on offer from Grant Instruments designed to satisfy the most demanding data collection requirements across industrial, scientific, R&D and environmental applications.
The Grant data acquisition product range extends from high specification, portable data logging systems (Squirrel family) through to fully integrated custom-configurable acquisition and control systems (dataTaker family), while Eltek, the Cambridge-based Grant affiliate, produces Squirrel variants primarily for remote logging. All products come with a 3 year warranty. OEM versions of most products are available on request.
