GTK nominated as Tech Champions at INSPIRE Business Awards
05/11/2026 GTK (UK) Ltd
Electronics manufacturers GTK have been shortlisted for a prestigious INSPIRE Business Award for their role in championing technology and innovation.
The awards aim to showcase success, innovation and achievement for businesses in and around Basingstoke, the home of GTK.
GTK, who manufacture custom electronic solutions, including cable assemblies and displays as well as full PCB assemblies and box build products, have been nominated for the Innovation and Technology Champion award.
“We’re proud to have been recognised for both our role in innovation and our place within the Basingstoke community. The town is home not only to our company but also to many of the great staff who help us deliver innovation every day,” says Scott Ford, Managing Director of GTK.
Founded in 1990 in Bracknell, GTK relocated to Basingstoke in 2009, where they have developed their production facilities and employ over 50 staff from the surrounding area.
GTK have over 35 years’ experience manufacturing a wide range of electronics-related components, assemblies and solutions for use within many products and sectors, including aerospace, transport, automotive, industrial and retail.
With production facilities in the UK, Romania, Taiwan and China, they deliver products to OEMs in the UK and across Europe.
The INSPIRE Business Awards are delivered by Destination Basingstoke and recognise success in areas including small business, service excellence, hospitality & leisure, community impact, environmental responsibility and diversity & inclusion.
The Innovation and Technology Champion award aims to ‘highlight businesses driving progress through innovative products, services or processes, strengthening their industry and Basingstoke’s position as a centre for innovation.’
The judges are looking for businesses that have a strong commitment to the area and can demonstrate a focus on innovation.
“The electronics solutions we supply not only keep pace with developments but actively help drive the innovation our clients deliver with their own products. As a business, we’re continually looking at how materials, equipment, processes and training can help us remain at the cutting edge,” adds Scott.
In 2018, GTK was acquired by Volex, a global leader in integrated manufacturing and a supplier of power cords, cables and connectivity solutions for performance-critical applications, and who are also headquartered in Basingstoke.
More than just a supplier, GTK hope their expertise as a manufacturer of custom electronics may help secure the award:
“We increasingly support our clients’ journey from concept to production – including with engineering and design, prototyping and the integrated manufacturing of complex systems and assemblies that bring their innovative products to life!” concludes Scott.
The winners of the INSPIRE Business Awards will be announced at a gala evening at the prestigious Warbrook House Hotel on Friday 13th November 2026.
