Guide trough assembly made simple with igus
11/10/2011 igus UK Ltd
Guide troughs are used to enable energy chain to glide smoothly and securely over travel lengths stretching from 5 metres and upwards, depending on the type of chain used. The new guidefast trough system, developed by plastic energy chain specialist igus UK, is a simple modular design that comprises mounting brackets, clips and a trough - significantly less components than standard systems. What is special about this design is that the trough is held in place by innovatively designed brackets and clips, which are robust and secure but only need one screw per part. Mounting a guide trough is now a much easier and quicker task - the igus guidefast system, halves assembly time and is less expensive than standard guide toughs.
The guidefast system from igus comes in a variety of materials and is available in galvanised steel, stainless steel and black powder coated steel. The troughs come in 2 metre sections and in a variety of sizes, therefore are compatible with a large range of harnessed energy chains and their fill weights. Application such as indoor gantry cranes and automated storage and retrieval units would benefit particularly from using the igus guidefast system.
As always igus is dedicated to providing innovative products and cost-effective, time saving solutions to its customers. Further to this all igus products go through vigorous in-house testing and are delivered with the igus longer life guarantee.
